Unreal City is an installation piece inspired by ‘The Waste Land’, a poem written by T.S. Eliot in 1922. Fragmentation in Eliot’s poetry revealed the chaotic state of modern existence. This installation was set up to capture the ephemeral sense of a constantly transforming East London, in the light of the overlapping of the historical with the modern, the fragmented and the complete, the real and the imagined.
